| One of the many, many creek crossings. The only trick is avoiding slippery and/or unstable rocks.

| A 1/2 mile section of the trail from the canyon to the fire road was through quiet, dense growth. We didn't see another person the whole day. The blue blaze on the tree demonstrates the way trails are marked. (Yes, that's where "blaze a trail" comes from!)
