After breakfast and getting packed, we spent a few minutes checking out some of the shops around the town. I think we'll wait until the end of the trip to buy things, though.

We arrived at the TIC - along a beautiful coastline. Nothing but ice water as far as you can see... it is surprisingly green here despite the cold weather.

We ate lunch at the Sango Sands Oasis, a nice enough place for the middle of nowhere.

Toward Whiten Head and across the Mouth of Loch Eribol, known for its deep waters. It was used to harbor submarines during WWII and possibly later.

We make a stop in Lairg on the A836 for some shortbread and Lilt, which is a citrus soft drink bottled by the Coca Cola Co.

The scenery has quickly turned green, lush, and fertile. At Bonar Bridge we noticed this dramatically in the River Valley. We turned onto the A9 towards Inverness and the Donrach Firth.

We enjoyed an absolutely wild drive in Inverness trying to find our way around. We haven't really had any trouble until now. We had planned to stay the evening here, but we are so frustrated I think we'll head down the road and try to get a room on Loch Ness, our first stop tomorrow.

After a nice drive alongside Loch Ness, we check into a room at the Drumnadrochit Hotel. Time to get ready for dinner.
