Switzerland 2011 - Day 2

A beautiful day made the hike up on Ebenalp the obvious choice. There are several routes available, but we chose to ride the lift up and then hike around and down to Seealpsee, a mountain lake, and then back down on foot to the base of the lift to complete the circuit.

From the top of the lift

Hiking down and around under the lift, then through a short cave

Odd little druid circle or whatever in the cave. There was a group of wild, unwashed looking persons in front of us, perhaps they left this.

Cliffside Gasthaus Aescher
It wasn't that dangerous, really, maybe the sign was talking about the other trail we didn't take. I couldn't tell. Anyway, they have leashes for your children in the guesthouse... we should have brought a couple back to the US.

Begin the descent to the lake

In the Seealpsee high valley, you can buy homemade cheese or... take a whey bath. They look like they're having fun right?

4m 02s Cow parade! A family brings the herd down from the mountain pastures to the valley for winter. Our trails crossed during the hike back from Seealpsee. Listen for the echoing yell from the man and the noises the boy makes while leading the cows.
